Pandit Deena Dayal Upadhyaya

Now we have NDA govt in India with BJP in full majority and 19 states being ruled with BJP alliances. Though Dr Syama Prasad Mukherji founded BJS, since he passed early under suspicious conditions in Jammu-Kashmir, BJS/BJP was fortunate to get the 15 year nurturing leadership of Pandit Deenadayal Upadhyaya ; he is a Pandit as he is a gold medalist in MA English, rejected UP officer post, studied B.Ed, M.Ed, started Panchajanya, wrote biography of Sankaracharya, translated biography of Dr Hedgewar, and came up with the philosophy of Integral Humanism which embraces 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbkam', as a contrast to capitalism, communism, socialism, radical humanism.
He emphasized on Antyoday as a strategy to empower poorest and weakest in the society.

2016 is his birth centenary year, 2018 is 50th year of his death anniversary. Let us use this year to start focus on poorest sections who are likely illiterate and suffer from hunger/malnutrition.

100% literacy for India by 2020

If India is to become a developed state, and get respected in the world, one of the requirements which is easier to achieve is 100% literacy. No country can become great, developed unless its people are literate and function as effective citizens. As PM, Vajpayee has proposed this literacy as his vision in his independence day address in 1999. It can be achieved within 3 years by 2020 by making it as a national mission, have policy direction, making all citizens participate and drive it. I am hoping PM, Finance Minister and HRD minister can make policy directions and budgetary allocations for this starting from 2018.
